Update 07/14/2016 1:00 p.m. No change in acreage or containment. Full containment remains estimated for 07/15/2016.
Update 07/13/2016 3:45 p.m.: Fire mapped at 173 acres and is now 90% contained. Full containment estimated by 07/15/2016.
Update: 12:40 p.m.: Fire remains at 86 acres and is now 50% contained.
UPDATE 10:50 p.m. - The fire is now 40% contained and 86 acres. The forward rate of spread has stopped. Unless significant incident activity occurs throughout the night, the next update will be tomorrow morning.
UPDATE 8:07 p.m. - After mapping the fire the acreage has been updated to 30 acres.
UPDATE 7:07 p.m. - The fire is now 30% contained. UPDATE 6:44 p.m. - One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance. The forward progress of the fire has been stopped. The fire remains at 60 acres and is 5% contained. Updates will continue to be posted as information becomes available.
Update 4:20 p.m.: Fire is now approximately 50-60 acres. For media: Incident Command Post is located at the far east end of Briggs Road.
Update 3:50 p.m.: Fire is now approximately 30-35 acres. CAL FIRE San Bernardino and CAL FIRE San Diego assisting. Information Officer (PIO 1), Captain Lucas Spelman en route.
CAL FIRE Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a wildland fire in the Romoland area. The first arriving engine company reported approximately 2 1/2 acres burning in steep, rocky terrain. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
