CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a traffic collision on Grapefruit Boulevard north of Highway 111 in Mecca. The first arriving engine company reported a four vehicle traffic collision at the location. Two patients suffered serious injuries. Both patients were transported by ground to area hospitals; with Firefighter Paramedics on board. A third victim perished at the scene. California Highway Patrol is overseeing the investigation.
