Current Situation

UPDATE 5/19/17 @ 11:48 a.m. - The fire has been contained.
 
UPDATE 5/19/17 @ 9:00 a.m. - The fire is 14 acres and 80% contained.
 
UPDATE 5/18/17 @ 10:00 p.m. - After walking the fire the acreage has been updated to 14 acres. The fire is now 70 % contained. The railroad tracks running along the area of the fire has been reopened. One reserve firefighter was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital with heat related symptoms in minor condition. Unless any significant activity occurs, the next update will be tomorrow morning.
 
UPDATE 5/18/17 @ 9:08 p.m. - All of Riverside City Fire Department's resources have been released.
 
UPDATE 5/18/17 @ 8:11 p.m. - The fire remains at 20 acres and is 10% contained.
 
UPDATE 5/18/17 @ 7:30 p.m. - Updated acreage is 20 acres. Firefighters are making good progress on the fire. All aircraft has been released.
 
UPDATE 5/18/17 @ 6:34 p.m. - The fire is within the Santa Ana River bottom and is now 40 acres in size.  
 
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to reports of a wildland fire at the Jurupa Valley Golf Course, located at the 6100 block of Moraga Avenue in Jurupa Valley. The first arriving engine company reported a two acres fire of light flashy fuels, being driven by the wind to the east. Union Pacific Railroad has been notified to shut down the railroad tracks in the area of the fire. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
