UPDATE 5/23/17 @ 6:09 p.m. - The fire has been contained, final acreage is 10 acres.
 
UPDATE 5/23/17 @ 4:54 p.m. - The cause of the fire was determined to be juveniles playing with fire. The juveniles were detained by Riverside Sheriff and interviewed by CAL FIRE Law Enforcement. The parents will be held responsible for fire suppression costs.
 
UPDATE 5/23/17 @ 3:58 p.m. - The forward progress of the fire has been stopped. The fire is 29 acres and 70% contained.
 
UPDATE 5/23/17 @ 2:45 p.m. - The fire is 15 acres and 50% contained.
 
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vegetation fire at the intersection of Ironwood Avenue and Moreno Beach Drive in Moreno Valley. The first arriving engine company reported 3 acres of vegetation with a rapid rate of spread. The fire is currently 5 acres. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
