Update [FINAL] 2:00 p.m. The Eagle fire is 100% contained. Mapped final size is 205 acres. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Update 7-5-17 @ 8:31 a.m. - The fire is 390 acres and 90% contained.
Update 10:00 p.m.: The Eagle fire is now 390 acres and 50% contained. Full containment expected by 12:00 p.m., July 5th, 2017.
Update 7:30 p.m.: Forward spread stopped. Fire holding at 200+ acres, unmapped. Fire is 10% contained.
Update 6:15 p.m. Fire is 200 acres, 0% containment. Cajalco Road is closed between El Sobrante and La Sierra and Temescal and La Sierra.
Update 5:40 p.m. Fire is now 50 acres. No structure threat.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a wildland fire in the Lake Mathews area on Tin Mine Road and La Sierra Ave. The fire is approximately 25 acres burning at a rapid rate. No structure are threatened. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
