UPDATE 8/8/17 @ 4:13 p.m. - One burn victim was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance with moderate injuries. The second burn victim was transported by Mercy Air Ambulance to an area hospital with major injuries. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a single report of the smell of gas coming from an apartment at the 44000 block of King Street in Indio. The first arriving engine company reported a single story, multi-family dwelling with an explosion and two burn victims. The fire has been contained. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
