UPDATE 10/23/17 @ 5:56 p.m. - The fire is 100% contained to 50 acres. Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night. ** UPDATE 10/23/17 @ 2:10 p.m. - The fire remains at 50 acres and is now 75% contained. ** UPDATE 10/23/17 @ 1:21 p.m. - The fire remains at 50 acres and is 50% contained. For updates on road contditions please contact California Highway Patrol's Indio Office, or visit ** UPDATE 10/23/17 @ 12:30 p.m. - The fire is now 50 acres. ** UPDATE 10/23/17 @ 11:50 a.m. - The fire is now 30 acres. ** CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of wildland fire in the area of Lambs Canyon Road north of Gilman Springs Road in Gilman Springs. The first arriving engine company reported a wildland fire approximately two acres in size burning at a moderate rate of spread burning on the north and south side of Lambs Canyon Road. The winds in the area are approximately 40 knots. Multiple ground and air resources have been requested to the incident.
