Current Situation

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters with assistance from the USFS Cleveland National Forest responded to two stranded hikers in an area known as Fisherman's Camp on the Ortega Mountains west of Lake Elsinore. Due to inaccessibility by engine, CAL FIRE Copter 301 and crew were dispatched to perform a remote area hoist rescue of the two adult males. Once located, the hikers were extracted from the remote area and flown to a landing zone behind Fire Station 51. Both hikers were unharmed.
