UPDATE 2/4/18 @ 3:07 p.m. - H901 landed and at the incident and loaded the patient into the helicopter. The patient was transported with moderate injuries to an area hospital by H901. ** CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a report of a hiker with a medical emergency on the Living Desert Hiking Trail near the Living Desert Reserve, located at the 47000 block of Portola Avenue in Palm Desert. The patient is located approximately 1.5 miles from the starting point of the trail in difficult terrain. Firefighters arrived on scene and have requested CAL FIRE Helicopter 901 (H901) to extract the patient, due to the patient's location. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
