CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Highway 60 east of Jack Rabbit Trail in Beaumont. The first arriving engine company reported one pedestrian who perished at the scene. Highway 60 east bound will be closed for an unknown duration. For more information on the highway closure you can go to CHP Traffic then select "Indio" from the far left drop down menu. CHP is investigating the accident and should be contacted with any questions.
