UPDATE 5/14/18 @ 4:17 p.m. - The victim was flown to an area hospital by Mercy Air Ambulance. California Highway Patrol is overseeing the investigation. ** CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a traffic collision on Highway 243 north of Mount Edna Road in Banning. The first arriving engine company reported one vehicle on its side with moderate damage and one victim with serious injuries trapped inside. An air ambulance (Mercy Air Ambulance) has been requested for the trapped victim. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
