UPDATE 5/16/18 @ 12:10 a.m. - The fire has been contained. ** CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a report of a smoke alarm activation, per an alarm company, in the Early Childhood Education Building at College of the Desert in Palm Desert. The first arriving engine company reported a single story commercial building with light smoke in the area and requested the balance of a first alarm. Firefighters located and confined a fire to a single room and contents in the Early Childhood Education Building. Resources will remain on scene for approximately two hours.
