Update [FINAL] : The cause of the fire was determined to be arson (stolen vehicle). No further information available. Final acreage was 3.2 acres after more accurate mapping. Update 11:10 a.m. Forward spread has been stopped. Resources committed approximately 5 hours. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a vegetation fire in Thermal. The fire is currently 13 acres burning in heavy tamarisk at a slow rate. Extended committment time for resources. Updates will be posted as information becomes avaialble.
