Current Situation

UPDATE: The first victim was evaluated by paramedics on scene and declined further treatment. The two additional victims were transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.
UPDATE: H301 has found a break in the weather and is able to make access to the incident. H301 was able to rescue the two remaining victims from the island.
UPDATE: One victim has been extracted from the island. Two additional victims remain on the island.
UPDATE: The two victims in the water have moved down stream approximately 200 yards and found their way to the island. H301 and H60 are having trouble making access due to the weather.
UPDATE: The width, depth and speed of the water is making it difficult for rescuers to access the vehicle. CAL FIRE Helicopter 301 (H301) has been requested to the incident to assist. Along with California Highway Patrol Helicopter (H60). One victim made their way to an island within the water stream. Two additional victims are in the water.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a single vehicle trapped in water near Elm Street X Adele Avenue in Cabazon. Firefighters arrived on scene and reported water to the bottom of the wheel well, flowing at approximately 10 MPH.
