UPDATE 3/10/19 @ 4:27 p.m. - The patient has been transported to an area hospital by ground. Firefighters are making their way back to the parking lot and will clear the scene.
UPDATE 3/10/19 @ 3:50 p.m. - The patient has been loaded onto H60 and is being flown to an awaiting ground ambulance to transport.
UPDATE 3/10/19 @ 3:32 p.m. - Our rescue group has made contact with the patient and is providing advanced life support (ALS) care to the patient. It will be approximately 30 - 60 minutes to extract the patient and load them into H60.
UPDATE 3/10/19 @ 2:55 p.m. - H60 is making patient contact. Our rescue group of firefighters on the ground will continue through Ladder Canyon Trail to evaluate and load the patient into H60. H60 will then transport the patient to an awaiting ground ambulance.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a report of a hiker with a lower extremity injury on Ladder Canyon Trail in Thermal. Firefighters arrived at the parking lot to the hiking trail and have begun to hike their way to the patient. California Highway Patrol's (CHP) helicopter Air63 is assisting with an aerial view. Air63 was able to locate the patient. CHP helicopter H60 is responding to extract the patient. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
