UPDATE @ 5:52 p.m. - The fire is 90% contained at 40 acres.
 
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the intersection of Lincoln St. and Ave 70 in Mecca. The first arriving engine company reported 1-2 acres of heavy brush involved. The fire is currently 30 acres. There were no injuries reported. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
