Current Situation

UPDATE 4/29/19 @ 11:27 a.m. - The patient was brought down to an awaiting ground ambulance and transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.
UPDATE 4/29/19 @ 11:10 a.m. - Firefighters have made contact with the patient, who is in stable condition. They have begun patient care, and prepped the patient for transport. Firefighters will be walking the patient out of the trail.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters, with assistance from Morongo Fire Department, responded to a report of a hiker with a lower extremity injury on a trial near Santa Cruz Road X Casa Grande Drive in Desert Hot Springs. Firefighters have located the hiking trail access point, located the patient and are hiking in to retrieve the patient. Resources will be committed for approximately one to two hours. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
