UPDATE 6/22/19 @ 5:58 p.m. - The fire was 100% contained to 7.81 acres at 2:00 p.m. All resources have cleared the scene.
UPDATE 6/22/19 @ 8:09 a.m. - After better mapping, the size of the fire is 7.81 acres and is 80% contained. Resources will remain committed to work on full containment. Unless any significant incident activity occurs, the next update will be this evening.
UPDATE 6/21/19 @ 8:55 p.m. - The fire remains at five acres and is 75% contained. The forward rate of spread has been stopped. Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night and tomorrow working on full containment. Unless any significant activity occurs, the next update will be tomorrow morning.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the intersection of Old Banning Idyllwild Road and Mt Edna Road, in Banning. The first arriving air resource reported a 3-5 acre fire with slow rate of spread burning on a north facing slope. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
