Cause: Evacuation Comments: UPDATE 8/1/19 @ 11:40 a.m. - All evacuations have been lifted. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has conducted evacuations on Fresco Lane X Brisa Drive south of the incident.

Current Situation

UPDATE 8/1/19 @1:130 p.m. - The fire is now 100% contained. UPDATE 8/1/19 @ 1:08 p.m. - The southern railroad track has been reopened.
UPDATE 8/1/19 @ 11:40 a.m. - All evacuations have been lifted.
UPDATE 8/1/19 @ 11:15 a.m. - A Sun Bus has been started to the location as a rehab and cooling center for firefighters. Union Pacific Railroad has shut down the southern track along the fire. Resources will remain on scene for approximately four hours.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vegetation fire south of Interstate 10 east of Washington Street in Palm Desert. Firefighters are on scene of approximately 1/4 acre of heavy brush and tamarisk trees involved in fire. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has conducted evacuations on Fresco Lane X Brisa Drive south of the incident. A Public Information Officer is on scene. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
