CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters were requested by Desert Hot Springs Police Department (DHSPD) for a reported apartment fire. The first arriving engine company reported nothing showing from the apartment. Upon making contact with DHSPD, firefighters located an apartment with signs of a previously unreported fire that was extinguised and one victim inside who had perished at the scene. CAL FIRE Peace Officers are investigating the cause of the fire, for any questions related to the victim, please contact the coroners office or DHSPD.
