Firefighters contained the fire on Wednesday, January 20th, at 4:23 p.m..
Morning Update 1/20/21 @ 10:00 a.m. - The fire is 43 acres and is now 50% contained. Fire resources were aided by light rain early this morning and will continue working throughout the day to fully contain the fire.
EVENING UPDATE 1/19/21 @ 7:00 p.m. - The fire is currently 43 acres and 25% contained. This will be the final update of the evening unless fire activity dictates otherwise.
UPDATE @ 3:00 p.m. - The fire has grown to 40 acres and is now 10% contained.
UPDATE @ 12:00 p.m. - The fire is now 35 acres and 5% contained. The fire is currently burning in a landscape debris refuse yard located on the Torres Martinez Indian Reservation. Bureau of Indian Affairs is assisting.
CAL FIRE/ Riverside County Firefighters responded to multiple reports of fire near the intersection of Peirce Street and Avenue 73. The first arriving fire resource reported approximately 2 acres burning in heavy fuels in an old fish pond. Wind in the area has presented a challenge for firefighters and the fire is currently 30 acres and burning in debris and unknown fuels. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
