Residents and motorists, please yield to fire personnel and equipment working in the area and obey road closures for your safety. Firefighters will remain on scene several days for mop-up.

Current Situation

The fire was fully contained this morning at 8:00 a.m.
UPDATE 5/26/21 at 5:00 p.m. - The fire remains at 115 acres and is now 95% contained. Supression repair and strentghening of containment lines will remain throughout the evening.
UPDATE 5/26/21 at 8:00 a.m. - The fire is 115 acres and 90% contained. Crews will remain on scene today working on strengthening containment lines.
UPDATE 5/25/21 at 5:00 P.M. - All road closures for the incident have been lifted. The fire remains at 105 acres and is now 85% contained. Unless any significant incident activity occurs, the next update will be tomorrow morning.

Update 5/24/2021 10:00 a.m. - Road Closures: Clay Street between Van Buren Blvd and Limonite Ave. Also Van Buren Blvd between Jurupa Ave and Limonite Ave.
Morning Update 5/25/2020 7:00 a.m. - Due to more accurate mapping, the fire is 105 acres and now 10% contained. Day assignment is on scene to continue strengthening containment lines . Evacuation Warnings in Zones 1, 2 and 3 remain in place.***
***UPDATE 9:00 P.M. 5/24/2021 - EVACUATION ORDERS IN ZONE 2 (East of Van Buren, South of Limonite, West of Riverview and north of the Riverbottom) HAVE BEEN DOWNGRADED TO AN EVACUATION WARNING. ZONES 1, 2 AND 3 ARE NOW UNDER EVACUATION WARNING***

Update 7:10 P.M. Due to more accurate mapping, the fire is 150 acres and now 5% contained.
Update 5:32 PM - The fire is now approximately 200 acres. Firefight by air and ground resources continues. All evacuation WARNINGS AND ORDERS remain in place until further notice.

Update 4:30 P.M. - The fire is 100 acres and 0% contained. Please see below for updated evacuation orders that have expanded east to Avenue Juan Diaz. ****UPDATE 05/24/2021 4:00 P.M.: ***EVACUATION ORDERS ARE BACK IN EFFECT FOR RESIDENTS SOUTH OF LIMONITE AVE TO THE RIVERBOTTOM, EAST OF DOWNEY STREET AND WEST OF AVENUE JUAN DIAZ**** Update 2:30 P.M. - The fire is 35-40 acres and 0% contained.
UPDATE 5/24/2021 2:15 p.m. - ***UPDATE 5/24/2021 2:15 PM- EVACUATION ORDERS DOWNGRADED TO EVACUATION WARNING FOR RESIDENTS SOUTH OF LIMONITE AVE TO RIVER BOTTOM, EAST OF DOWNEY ST AND WEST OF VAN BUREN BLVD. *** Update: 1:10 P.M. - The fire is now 10-15 acres burning at a slow to moderate rate and 0% contained. CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department is on scene and in Unified Command with Riverside City FD. The fire is three acres in size and 0% contained with structures threatened and Evacuation ORDERS for residents south of Limonite Ave to the Riverbottom, east of Downey St and west of Van Buren Blvd. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
