UPDATE 5/26/21 at 3:45 p.m. - As of 12:00 p.m. the fire was 100% contained to 20.8 acres. Firefighters will be clearing the scene shortly.
UPDATE 5/26/21 at 8:00 a.m. - Due to more acurate mapping the acerage has been updated to 20.8 acres. The fire is 75% contained. Crews will remain on scene working on full containment and extinguishing hot spots within the burn.
UPDATE 5/25/21 at 7:53 p.m. - The fire remains at 25 acres and is 20% contained. Ground resources will remain on scene throughout the night. Unless significant incident activity occures, the next update will be tomorrow morning.
UPDATE 5/25/21 at 3:45 p.m. - The fire is now 25 acres.
UPDATE 5/25/21 at 1:27 P.M. - The fire is now 20 acres.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a wildland fire near the 89000 block of Ave 64 in Thermal. The first arriving engine company reported five acres of dense brush burning at a moderate rate of spread. Additional ground resources have been requested. Imperial Irrigation District has been requested due to power lines in the area.
