Current Situation

FINAL UPDATE 6/4/2021 at 5:00 p.m. - The Coyote Fire is now fully contained as of 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. Fire resources have been released from the fire.
Evening Update 6/3/2021 at 5:25 P.M. - Due to more accurate mapping, the fire is 43 acres and is now 90% contained. Resources remain committed as they work to have the fire fully contained sometime tomorrow.
UPDATE 6/3/2021 at 7:20 a.m. - The fire remains at 75 acres and is now 20% contained. The forward rate of spread has been stopped.
UPDATE 9:30 p.m. 0 The fire is currently 75 acres and 5% contained. The next update will be in the morning unless significant incident activity occurs.
UPDATE 8:40 p.m. - The fire is currently 75 acres.
UPDATE 8:00 p.m. - The fire has burned approximatley 60 acres with a moderate rate of spread. The fire is currently burning in medium fuels with wind out of the west.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters, with assistance from USFS – San Bernardino, responded to reports of a vegetation fire in the area of Old Banning Idyllwild Road south of Shirleon Drive in Banning. Crews are on scene of approximately 50 acres of medium to light fuels burning on a northern slope. Ground and air resdources are on scene. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
