,div> UPDATE @ 5:30 pm - SCE has restored power to the majority of residents effected. Approximetly 150 residents West of Warren Rd. in the area of the fire will remain without power while SCE continues repairs.
UPDATE @ 4:50 p.m. The fire has burned 122 acres and the forward rate of spread has been stopped. Fire resources will remain on scene for 4-5 hours working ot fully contain the fire. Several powerlines have been damaged in the fire and electrical service has been stopped while Southern California Edison crews repair the damage. The outage is effecting approximately 2,000 - 3,000 residents of East Hemet, west to Winchester Rd.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters, in unified command with Hemet Firefighters, are on scene of a vegetation fire near California Avenue X Lyn Avenue in the unincorporated County area of Hemet. The fire is approximately 105 acres of light, flashy fuels burning at a rapid rate. Multiple ground and air resources are on scene. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
