The City of Canyon Lake was incorporated in 1990 and began contracting with the Riverside County Fire Department for fire and emergency services in 1991.  The City has a population of 10,939 and encompasses seven square miles.   The City of Canyon Lake has five city firefighters assigned one fire station.
