Fire Explorer Program Invites Coachella Valley Youth

The Riverside County Fire Department Fire Explorer Post in Indian Wells would like to welcome the public and media to attend its training meeting on Wednesday April 7, 2004 at 6:30 PM at the Indian Wells Fire Station # 55 located at 44900 El Dorado Drive. The Explorer Post will be demonstrating firefighting skills that Fire Explorers learn and practice. In addition, Explorer Post members and advisors will be available to answer questions about the three Fire Explorer programs in the Coachella Valley.

The Riverside County Fire Department’s Fire Explorer program is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to learn about the fire service and gain valuable skills including work ethics, leadership, and teamwork. Fire Explorers can also gain high school credits and community service hours while participating in the program.

Boys and girls who are between the ages of 14 and 20, have graduated the 8th grade, and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA are encouraged to apply. Contact Post Advisor Firefighter Scott Mason at 760 568-5252 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
