8/2/23 10:00 PM FINAL UPDATE Both fires are 100% contained, one at 80 acres and one at 15 acres. The road closures and evacuation warnings have been lifted.

8/2/23 UPDATE 6:00 PM EVACUATION ORDER AND WARNING AREA CHANGES:

Effective at 6:00 PM, the evacuation order area is being downgraded to an evacuation WARNING: South of Esther Avenue/Margaret Avenue North of Hattie Avenue West of Lime Street East of Peach Street

The evacuation warning area is being rescinded in its entirety: South of Bonita Avenue North of Esther Avenue/Margaret Avenue West of Peach Street East of Broadway

Road closures will remain in place on Elm Street between Bonita Avenue and Esther/Margaret Avenue and Esperanza between Eucalyptus and Sunrise. Please drive carefully through the area as firefighters are still out working.

Current Situation

8/2/23 10:00 PM FINAL UPDATE Both fires are 100% contained, one at 80 acres and one at 15 acres. The road closures and evacuation warnings have been lifted. Two fire engines will remain at incident overnight, patrolling for hot spots.

8/2/23 4:00 PM UPDATE The fire was two separate fires burning in the same area. The first fire is 80 acres and is 75% contained. The second fire is 15 acres and is 10% contained. The evacuation orders remain in place due to public safety; power lines in the area are affected. The cause of the fires is under investigation.

8/02/2023 UPDATE 1:30 PM The fire is 95 acres and 0% contained. Four structures have been destroyed. Evacuation order area has been established.

Firefighters are on-scene of a 15 acre vegetation fire, burning at a rapid rate of spread in light flashy fuels. Additional ground and air resources are responding.
