**UPDATE 05/20/2025 9:30 PM: The fire remains at 126 acres and 40% contained. Fire crews will remain on the fire overnight hitting hotspots and working to improve control lines around the fire. This will be the last update of the night unless conditions change.
UPDATE 05/20/2025 6:30 PM: The fire remains at 126 acres and 10% contained, the forward rate of spread was stopped at 5:02 PM. All evacuation warnings have been released, and the evacuation centers have been closed. Fire crews continue to improve control lines around the fire.
UPDATE 05/20/2025 5:20 PM: The fire is now 126 acres and 0% contained. Evacuation orders have been downgraded to an evacuation warning. Fire crews continue to make progress on the fire line. One outbuilding has been destroyed. Two firefighters were transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening minor injuries.
UPDATE 05/20/2025 4:20 pm: Additional units are still enroute to the fire. Evacuation orders and warning remain in place. Evacuation Center has been changed to the Anza Community Center, 56630 CA-371, Anza, CA 92539, Animal Shelter – Animal Services 581 South Grant Avenue, San Jacinto, CA 92582. The fire is terrain driven with a slight wind and crews are making progress on the fire line in conjunction with fixed wing and helicopter aircraft support.
UPDATE 5/20 @ 3:20 p.m. The fire is now reported at 112 acres and EVACUATION ORDERS and WARNINGS have been issued for North of Dove Dr., South of Hwy 371, East of Shortcut Trl., and West of Tule Valley Rd. Riverside City Fire, Hemet City Fire, Ontario City Fire and Corona City Fire are assisting.
UPDATE 5/20/25 @ 2:30 p.m. The vegetation fire has grown to approximately 35 acres and continues to burn in light brush with a moderate rate of spread in rugged terrain. Two additional water tenders have been requested to support ongoing suppression efforts. Ground crews and aircraft remain actively engaged as firefighters work to contain the fire and protect nearby areas.
CAL FIRE / Riverside County Firefighters are currently on scene of a 10-acre vegetation fire burning in light brush with a moderate rate of spread in rugged terrain. Ground crews are actively engaged in suppression efforts, while aircraft have been requested to assist in the firefight from above.
